This is sort of a continuation from my other thread (http://puppetsandstuff.com/community/index.php/topic,2678.0.html), except I need some help on another topic.

I'm covering the top of the head of my puppet with some fleece, but the jaws will be covered in a cotton material (this is a cow, and the jaws will be in a pink cotton, with the main part of the head in a white fleece).

My question is this:

Should I glue the pink cotton onto my foam, or sew it? I'm concerned at having lots of seams, either way, because the bottom jaw is quite square shaped. The top jaw should be ok, no seams...

Which is better?

(The answer is probably: use pink fleece instead of cotton... but I like the contrasting materials.)

I would do what you feel comfortable with. If sewing by hand use a stich that as invisible as possible.......... I don't know how ..........I've tried all type stiches on cotton fabric and you can still see it.

If you use glue......... use the spray clear 3M 74 or any brand that is availble to you. The  other 3M 77 sprays yellow and other contact cements will show thur your pink fabric.

Don't forget to post some cow pictures Cool

Well, you know what? After gluing some of the pink cotton to the top jaw, I decided I hated it and went and bought some fleece instead. I just finished gluing it, and it's so much better.

Thanks for the advice Billy; I'll remember it for next time. As for spray glue, I'm avoiding using it. I bought some a while ago, and really found it to be quite bad. Perhaps I need to find another spray glue, but I don't have time for trial and error, so I'm sticking (sorry for the pun) to hot glue for now.

I'll post some pics as soon as I can  Smiley

Thanks,
