I was browsing YouTube videos and found this.

It looks like the Steve Meltzer from the Santa Monica Puppetry Center was looking for the orginal puppet used in the 1953 MGM musical film “Lili”.  He was hoping to reunite the puppet with Ms. Caron who stared in the movie at the 2008 Santa Monica Puppetry Festival. Looking at the pictures from the festival that was held this last October it looks like perhaps they found at least a "twin" of the little guy. Smiley  The actual announcement page has not been updated yet so not sure what the back story is on the event.

I wish that the Santa Monica Puppetry Center had been around when I was a kid there in the Sixties. That would have been an easy bike ride or even walking distance from my house. I've seen it featured on TV programs like "Blind Date" before. It looks like a fun place.

Thanks for posting this, Shawn.

I just wish our area had something with puppet of that calliber going on.  As it is the only thing with puppets happening is with a few churches.

I'm thinking of puppeting together somehting of a one or two person street performance puppet show.  we'll have to see how that goes.
