I thought this would be a good time to remind everybody here that there is a Frappr Map of puppeteers available...its goal is to build the most comprehensive map of puppeteers worldwide possible. At the moment it has almost 160 people on it, but I know there are more out there!

If you haven't already, please take a moment to add your name, location, a photo (optional) and three lines indicating:

  • What you are (puppeteer, builder, etc.)
  • Name of your company (if applicable)
  • Type of puppets you build and/or work with and whether you're involved in puppetry for film/TV, theatre or both

Thanks!  Smiley

Thanks for the reminder Andrew.  Also here is the link to the Map. Smiley  Puppeteers on Frappr

Frappr has some really neat things you can link into for your own site if want.  Below you can see the Flash map they offer.
<a href="http://www.frappr.com/ajax/ygroupmap.swf?host=http://www.frappr.com/&amp;gid=51557&amp;zoom=16&amp;lat=40.98&amp;lon=-98.14" target="_blank">http://www.frappr.com/ajax/ygroupmap.swf?host=http://www.frappr.com/&amp;gid=51557&amp;zoom=16&amp;lat=40.98&amp;lon=-98.14</a>

They even have a slide show!
<a href="http://www.frappr.com/ajax/slideshow_400.swf?id=51557&amp;req=group" target="_blank">http://www.frappr.com/ajax/slideshow_400.swf?id=51557&amp;req=group</a>

you know me and my need for simplicity - - well, this site is a bit difficult to navigate.
is there anyway just to put in a state and pop up who is in that state?

AB,
I don't know that there is a place you can enter a state but at the site (not in the small image here)  you can use the navigation in the upper left of the map to zero in on the area you are interested in.  There is the + and - that can be used to zoom in and out of the map. Above that you see arrows that are left, right, up and down.  Those move you around on the map.  You can also click you mouse on the map and move it around.  Try to move the map so that the area you are interested in is in the middle.  Then start zooming in.  You may need to move the map as you zoom in.
