I have finnaly started the audrey 2 little shop of horrors puppet, I'm doing the large one first, the theater guild here in menomonie wisconsin finaly gave me some money to buy supplys, I have no pics yet, keep forgeting the camera.  anyway the bottom half of the pod is under way, I'm using plastic pvc tubing 1/2 inch thick to build the basic skeleton. then I'l duct tape the entire piece and cover it with batting and felt. 
and of coarse some metal bars here and there for support.


I'll keep all you folks posted as I go, and I'll try and get photos.  the puppet I built previously that I posted on here was no good, to much construction and such I ended up trashing the whole bit, but not before salvaging parts.

the plays in febuary by the way.  and I have four puppets ta make.

the red is pvc tubing, but I did use wire, I got the thickest fence wire I could find and fished it through some of the tubing like around the base and down the middle so it would hold it's form.
I'll probable have updates almost everyday for I only have less then a month to finish it for the play.

01/06/08 today I finished off on the top half of the pod, or at least the outer part still need to give it more inner structure, I put down more pvc tubing and gave it a lattice duck tape job, next I'll hot glue some cotten batting onto the outer parts of the pod. and of coarse the inner structure.

o.k I got some more pics, cause I'm working like a mad man, and yes I am getting burned out quite a lot with this puppet, but it is turning out cool.

anyway,new additions to the puppet, I gave it a fabric coating, and then covered it with cotten batting.  and other then that I started on the base structure that will support the puppet, basically just cut a bunch of lumber, I don't have any picture of the lumber though, because , well it's just lumber!
anyway here's the pics.

O.k today I had help for a change, and we built part of the base of the puppet, remember this thing has to eat people, so it should be able to handle 200 pounds easy.  anyway, we built the base structure I will add more to it later, but the is the part where folks who get eatin will exit out the puppet. need more tweeking of coarse, and the other pic is a pic of the bottom half of the pod, with new renforcment, and thats my friend who helped me today.

O.k so I've taken a break from the large puppet for my head hurts from it, and I finished up the second Audrey puppet, the one that Seymour holds in the play. the one that will eventually have a fake arm attacted to it.

Very COOL!  But it makes my head hurt just thinking about having to do such a HUGE project!  But it is fun watching someone else complete it!!  Will be waiting for the completed pictures!

Now thats a project. Has Audrey eaten all the space in your house too?

I actually have use of a studio, the theater guilds audition building, where they store all the stuff.
it's kinda creepy there though, but I don't think it's haunted.  the theater it self is definatly haunted though, I included a pic of it, it's really old, as old as the town which started as a logging town back in the day.
