Your right it would be a good idea for BlogTV but I will give you some ideas.....On Cookie Monster they use small wood circle's for the pupils they have a small hole big enough to put a finishing nail (very small nail) through to the eye ball itself.  The eye itself could be a painted white golf practice foam balls (they are yellow). 

Hope this gives you some idea's.......

Well I was thinking in something in these lines. So thank you for comfirming what I was already thinking.

I'm guessing you put the nail off centre of the pupil, is that right, so it spins around a larger arc than the pupil itself?

Yes Steve the nail would be off center of the pupil.
