Hi Guys,

Well, first of all, I had an awesome time last week at the camp I was doing...and I sold almost $800 worth of puppets!  I was very excited, since it was my first to get my name out there.
I received a custom order for a puppet.  My question here is...what kind of wigs/hair would you use?  The order is for white, curly hair on the puppet.  What would be the best way to do that, without spending a lot of money?  I don't want the wig to be something that will tangle and get all messed up.  They do want the hair left down, so that they can interchange hats with their costume.
Thanks for your help!

I agree - wool is probably the best and easiest to use. I guess it depends on what kind of texture you want, and what kind of character.

Thanks, guys, for the help.
I did find some yarn for doll hair...do you think this would unravel at the ends or not?  This custom order needs long, curly, white hair.

I was looking at the "new merino boucle".
Let me know what you think.

I have bought these yarns before................. They are more suitable for small dolls.
Try going to thrift shops and find a white sweater or sweaters. When unraveled the sweater yarn has a very curly looks to it. Results of being in a tight knit for some time.
Try different things before you commit to buy............. Heavy rug yarn unraveled may work. I'm not sure what type curl you are wanting. A natural fiber like animal VS synthetic can be curled using a curling iron. I started a thread some where in which I used the eyelash yarn and knitted a wig.......... I will see if I can find it.
Check Walmart or fabric store, there are so many different yarns out there to choose from.

Thanks, Billy, you've been very helpful!  Smile
All of these ideas are awesome...in fact, we have a resale shop just up the road...I may look for a white sweater first.  ;-)
