You are pretty good at adjusting patterns to fit what you want. I think you would need a 2-3 inch pile fur. It would then have to be distressed using a hot water technique. There is a video on dyeing fur but you would basically use the same technique to distress already dyed fur.

elmo is kind of the football head while grover is pure round sphere cut in half prettymuch.
elmo is ping pong eyes, while grover is spoon type eyes.

try to draw the shapes you see in the picture of them and then go looking for patterns that fit that kind of shape. I think you learn a lot of that. There are more sesame street figures that has the same shape as Elmo, Ernie for example

@cvzdesign: Thanks for your help(I really appreciate this). For elmo I got(I guess, hopefully) the shape for the head. But still thinking on grover.

The tips for the eyes is great. But, Elmos's eyes is the whole ping pong ball, or I I have to cut something(A quart of it)?

@Gompie: I'm going to do the drawing with grover(But sometime its kind of difficult for me some shape, like for example Grover), but, lets see.

Thanks guys!

Grover will be pretty much if you took the top of the head pattern for a round head, and did it again for the bottom, but upside down.
Let me see if I can find that pattern here somewhere...

Take a look at this item...http://puppetsandstuff.com/2008gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=11067&g2_GALLERYSID=184764bcf7c69a945ec4b9f8ffbb324f
It is from the puppetbuilding.com site, and was posted here in the past.
I checked on puppetbuilding.com and it is nowhere to be found that I could see.
It is a round head with a small bottom jaw, and if you play with it, you could take the round top, and invert it to use as a bottom jaw as well, I think.
