Well, my mind is totally blown. For all the shadow puppet enthusiasts and anyone like me who digs a beautifully sinister story...

Sorry Rikka. You're really missing out on this one. Crazy, stupid laws...

There aren't even any laws getting me off this, but only because GEMA and YouTube would not come to terms- one wants too much the other will not give enough... I mean I can understand the GEMA and how they feel they should get something for the artists... but I really feel cheated, it really looks wonderful.

Nice work. Since we're going for dark and depressing, have you seen this.

Beautiful. And existential, philosophically spoken.

Not my kind of music, but the puppetry is interesting. There are a couple of things there when I thought "how did they do that?"

It was a matter of time before this fantastic video showed up - I'm a big fan of Opeth and Porcupine Tree, whose frontmen form Storm Corrosion, so it's nice to see two fo my favourite things doing the puppetry circle rounds on the internet. The video that The Director posted was fantastic too.

Agreed Buppetpusker - two of my loves combined - PT and puppets! I got to see Porcupine Tree a couple of years back in Newtown. 'The Incident' in it's entirety. Nothing I see or hear will ever compare to that! I was actually looking for imagery from that gig when I stumbled across this clip.

I was there too! I was with a friend and we were stuck behind a guy with dreads who thought it was a /great/ idea to smoke 4 or 5 joints in the pit, in the enmore! Despite that it was a really great gig - I was the first to shout free bird (warranting a reply from Steven) but undoubtedly Lasse Hoille's films were the star of the show.

Whilst we're on the topic of dark stuff, check these marionettes out http://major-zag.tumblr.com/tagged/puppets/page/2. This blog is all that I can find about what seems to have been a small indie production but the puppets are exceptionally well made, and some very clever ideas in mechanics. My favourite is the one with the trunk/tentacle for a face.
