He came out fantastic!!
Darn, foiled again!
I've been wanting to make one of my own shoulder puppets for several years...
but I have yet to find site/info on how the crucial head-attachment cable mechanism works!
how is the head 'attached' to the body while allowing up/down side-2-side movement?
Could you post a diagram?
Sorry this took so long to respond, I have been working on starting my etsy shop and have been busy, which is good, but my puppet kind of went to the wayside.
The head is not attached to the body on mine in the strictest sense, but it is supported by a bent hanger that comes up from the body and goes into a hole in the wooden ball I built the ball joint around. . It comes off, but it helps support the head's weight. I am working on making another with lighter clay. The sculpey weighs a lot. The controls I attatched directly to the sculpey and hid with feathers. So the wires basically move the head around a joint. I can get a little more movement than the just up down/side to side, but like I said, it's heavy so it takes a little more effort than I want it to.
