I named my first puppet after Steve perry from Journey because I thought he resembled him (a little). I used the roly puppet pattern from project puppet. Sadly I can't add a photo from my iPad so you can see him on my twitter or instagram. My name is Jonathan Diaddigo.  Twitter @TheMrTeddybear instagram is the same user name. I think he turned out very nicely. I drew a pattern for the mouth which looks pretty good. Please go check it out and give me some feedback and Sugestions for my next one.  Smiley

Just a random fact about my family: my grandma is a ventriloquist (she is really good) and was a regular on a TV show called "let's be friends" with her puppet Jerry. (she still has him and he is in perfect condition)

Nice to meat you Steve! Hmm... I really wish the upload button worked on Ipads and phones but alas it does not.  There is an app though that should work on iPad called Tapatalk. I know it works on iPhones.  Here is a link to the post I did about it. http://puppetsandstuff.com/community/index.php/topic,5831.msg55599.html#msg55599  Here is a direct link to thier main page and it has a link for iPad. http://tapatalk.com/index.php

Hi Jonathan. Well, what "genre" do you like? I go for fantasy, for example.

Welcome Steve.  Sorry, I'm a bit behind the times..I don't have a twitter account and don't know what instagram is, so unfortunately I couldn't view your puppet.  Sounds interesting though.

What a great heritage to have a Grandma so talented.

I'm with Julie! I don't twitter, my cell phone still has a rotary dial LOL. Welcome to Puppets and Stuff and bring Grandma to. I'm sure she has some delightful stories to share. Can't wait to see pictures.

Yes. I assume it would be nice to start where you see yourself. Horror, or comedy or Fantasy... or what. Every genre would have a staple of characters. You could do a mummy, vampire or zombie, an elf, dragon or dwarf or a clown or commedia dell'arte characters, respectively- just examples. Or you could put a short and simple story up and build the chars accordingly.

Billy, I'd love to see your cellphone!

Rikka- I like comedyish muppet type people.
I think that's what you meant.

Yes. Well, you could go from there. First you could think Muppets- more a type, not a specific muppet: one of the old guys instead of Waldorf. Think about what makes that character work. Or you could go by function, that would work a bit like commedia dell'arte. Well, here is an idea: make commedia dell'arte puppets muppetstyle.

I think you get the types here. But Wiki is still on strike, try tomorrow...

Yep I too am trying to figure out way that we can see Steves photos. Smiley  Intstagram is a photo shareing site for iPhones but as of yet I can't figure out how to access the images via internet. http://instagr.am/  Twitter is of course available but I don't have a twitter account either.

BTW I pointed to the Tapatalk app for iPhone but then realized that it does not have the integration to the Gallery so images can be uploaded.  I really wish that the phones had not made it so difficult to incorporate uploads with websites. Sad

Shawn can a person attach a WORD doc that has a print screen of an online photo in the gallery?  You can copy his picture with right click and print screen.

Word documents with a .doc extension are allowed in the gallery but if you can right click an image then you can also save it as a simple image and that would work better in the Gallery really.
