I am interested in receiving quotes on a custom caricature glove puppet similar to the ones in the movie "What about Bob?" I would be able to supply 2D digital photos of the person I would like the puppet to look like. My best guesstimate based on what I've read online is that the price may be $150.00 + but I realize I could be completely off base. My timeline is August 2012. I am looking for a puppet-maker who would be interested in a making the puppet and could give me a quote.

While the puppets from What About Bob are different from anything that I've done before I'd be happy to be considered for your project anyway. Those would be a carved or molded head with a simple fabric hand puppet body. I do have some training and experience in sculpture and would enjoy the chance to do something different!

Do you have a picture of what the puppet looks like? I don't think I've ever actually seen the movie.

From my research earlier today, this is the best picture I have from the movie with the puppets on the mantle- in the background.



If you watch through the movie, there is a scene with the "fam" in their vacation home messing around with them. They are basically a paper mache type glove puppet. I would build them by making a clay sculpture, then casting a paper mache head around it, then removing the head in 3 parts and putting it back together, then painting it.
