I don't know there has been a topic on this but there has been different things used for eyes lke spoons, nylon containers, Styrofoam, and clear domes.
Have you used anything weird to make eyes?

Nice selection of eyes you have there.  What is the square plastic under the larger eyes with brown lids?

I use the round wooden balls in my marionettes but that is pretty standard really.

I don't know if I've used anything "weird"  Shocked but I have used:
styrofoam (not my fav)
dense foam practice golf balls
ping pong balls
plastic spoons-clear and white
craft foam
shrinky dinks
fabric circles and stuffing
purchased eyes

There could be more, but I can't remember right now.

I like to make fabric eyes, so that they sew or pin onto  a head. Its more robust to sew, or temporary to pin , or double sided tape. Very seldom do I glue.Particularly useful in TV where you need to change characters a lot, and they don't reflect the light. I even cover spoons with fabric for the same reason. A common one I use is a card base, then foam glued to that( to pad or quilt it  out), then covered with fabric, lids lashes whites  irises and pupils all sewn as one covering.

I don't think "boring" is an adjective that can properly be applied to you Rikka.

Lola, I think in my gallery the blue quartet puppets are there and have the shrinky dink eyes.  It took some fiddling to cut them before I shrunk them to get the size I needed after.  But it worked!  I just glued them on with hot glue and they are NOT coming off!

I found them.  The two quartet guys in the middle have shrinky dink eyes and the little blonde boy in the choir group has them also.

I am in the process of building a new puppet for our new show, I ordered 4" shatter proof (commercial type) Christmas ornaments to be used as eyes.  Sand off the attachment point for the hook, paint it white, add the eye details, and spray with a flat clear coat.  Once I have one done I will post a photo of it.

Angel - Those eyes are adorable! Nice job!

I've just been messing with the epoxy, so nothing exciting here. :}

The frist time that I made eyes I used buttons, huge white and small black ones.
then i started using felt, Styrofoam and plastic spoons. now I use white plastic lids (with nothing on them) and plain white eater eggs for some of my monsters.
