I am looking for the fabric they make Carwash mitts out of. I can get them in everycolor but black, and since they are not a natural fiber they cannot be dyed.

Welcome to Puppets and Stuff......... I did a quick search and I found a fabric called.... Cotton Chenille Woogie.Unfortunately it does not come in black. With the fabric being cotton you might be able to dye it black using rit dye. I know some colors covers well with black.

wave Thanks I will look at these. I tried to dye some peices that I bought from Dollartree. But they would not absorb the dye (Rit) even though I left them in the solution for an hour. Roll Eyes. I did find a black wash mitt but spending $16 for one mit, is not in my current budget.LOL

Glad you decided to join us.  This site has 2 microfiber mits in black for 9.99.  I don't know what the shipping would be,b it you would have two mits for hair.  http://www.autogeek.net/black-microfiber-wash-mitt.html

Great find on the Woogie fabric Billy! I don't think it is quite the same as the wash mitts but it would still make great hair or even an animal or monster puppet!

Thank You for the buy one get one link. That's a better price than one for 9.99. It is just the right thickness for dreadlock look, without buying a wig.

You can also make dreads from wool roving or a old wool sweater

@Melaine9 the dye didn't take at all cause it is a man made material you were trying to dye....only natural materials can dye with RIT...just to clarify.

Good luck on your search!
