Okay, so I got this (now well out of print) book the other day, and have been mining it for build info pics!
I scanned & enlarged the pics as some are really small.

Large scans in my Photobucket album here:

Some images I found really interesting:

Balsa or hard foam palms? Hard mouthplate which encloses the hand?!

Fingertubes! Eye mech! Reticulated foam! Smiley
Think that's the only foam chin pattern I've seen!

Hard to believe the book is 32 years old!

Looks pretty cool.  This is one I don't have. Smiley  Might be worth keeping an eye out on Amazon for.

All the ones available right now are a bit pricey but you never know. Also here is the info on the book in case someone can find it elsewhere.

Luckily the SF Bay Area Puppeteer's Guild has a copy in their library so I was able to borrow it. Definitely a great book but I do admit to being a little disappointed at how quick of a read it is. I would definitely recommend "Jim Henson: The Works" though. Simply inspiring.

Heya! I didn't mean to give the impression that the book is chock full o' build pics - sorry if it came out that way. I was just surprised how even a 32 year old book can show something new!
I assumed the book to be fairly well known among puppet peeps.
I have The Works on order, expecting it any time.

Coz: No worries! It's definitely a great resource and you did not give that impression. I own several art books from Pixar and Disney and also owned "The Works" first so was simply expecting a bit more out of habit. Smiley Looking forward to you receiving The Works though!
