Weekly Puppetry News Round-Ups  (Read 12417 times)
« on: September 22, 2013, 08:39:01 am »

Hi everyone!

Since the summer every weekend I have been doing "round-ups" of the week's puppetry news, events, call for entry (opportunities to perform at festivals and slam) and auditions/jobs. I started writing these because I was getting a lot of great submissions for my blog that I either didn't have time to write about or for whatever reason it was difficult to build a proper post around.

You can find the latest news round-up at http://puppetvision.info/2013/09/weekly-puppetry-news-round-up-dog-attack-edition.html

All of the previous ones are archived at http://puppetvision.info/category/news

I've been checking these post from time to time folks, they are really great. You can learn all kinds of interesting things and you kind of realize just how much puppetry is out there. Great job Andrew, thanks for providing these updates!

I've been loving your weekly news round-ups. I have been slowly moving away from reading your blog, mostly due to lack of time and needing a break from constant puppetry, but have been coming back to see the news posts. If you need more Aussie news, the regular newsletter here is good:

Thanks for the tip, I'm always looking for more news sources in Australia and NZ!

Oh thanks. It's a combination of a lot of stuff being sent my way because I've written a puppetry blog for a long time and having a lot of subscriptions to puppetry newsfeeds, newsletters, etc.

Speaking of which, here's the latest Weekly Puppetry News Round-Up

Another week, another Puppetry News Round-Up. This week's installment is very international - I even found a story from Antarctica!

I had to take a month off from posting these, but they're back at my site's new URL. Lots of great things happening in puppetry all over the world!

I am intrigued by the title "Facebook Linkbait Edition".  Is this weeks posting a test of social media reach? Smiley

No lol, it's because it has an intro that's very similar to those "Upworthy-style" posts that are all over Facebook...

I was all set to write my regular Weekly Puppetry News Round-Up when suddenly a man picked up a projector and a shadow puppet and the most incredible thing happened. You won’t believe what it was…

What can I say, I was a little bored...and annoyed by seeing how every site seems to be doing those on Facebook.  Wink

I understand what you mean. Seems like it does not matter what the article is about as long as you "insert sensational claim headline here".  Pleased you have not jumped on that band wagon and continue to deliver good solid content.
