Back in 2014 when this was asked of Tioh, he was using Lightwave 3d, but was planning on moving to Sculptris.

I tried 2-component polyester-based filler on the beak to make it look more organic - it worked fine. I'm not sure whether I want to sand it totally smooth - I like the surface as it is right now. I'll paint the beak orange.
