Goal is to get familiar with making mascots out of puppet patterns, than to eventually work on full body puppets.  That and I like the idea of bringing Sesame Street and The Muppets to comic con's, you get some very interesting reactions :D

I was trying to put my finger on why Oscar looks so happy instead of mad.  Maybe it is the pupil placement or the eyebrows, or was that planned for him to finally look happy about the tardis/can.  Good progress many great works took a long time to finish.

Thanks Smiley  I imagine its mostly the mouth, which sadly I don't have much control over if I want to see.  And you are right, the eyes are also part of it.  Printed a photo of Oscar's face, enlarged it, then cut out the eyes and unibrow as a pattern.  Most of his good online pictures have him smiling.

Thanks Smiley Now just need to finish the hands, add a bow tie, and raise the trash can to chest level.

looking good! If you could manage a bigger trash can, it would be even better.

Yeah, we debated on the size of the trash can.  This one won out because I knew I could get through doors and it was round.  Bigger plastic ones tend to come in weird shapes.  But it is something I may try next time.

Here he is fairly completed.  Going to trim the hands some, and wear blue slacks.  But this is essentially it Smiley

Well done.  Like the combo of Doctor and Grouch look.

No, don't mind at all :D

Took him out to a small con in Dallas today, and had a blast!  Several people asked to take my picture, though I was called Grover and Cookie way too much!!!!!  Just went with the flow.

Actor behind Raphael in the TMNT movie asked for my photo Smiley

Just beside myself.....

One of the greatest parts was this little Batgirl, she practically followed me around.  Ran into her several times and she had to tell me stories, give me hugs, and had to hold my hand.  Moments like this is why I love cosplaying these characters:

Doctor Oscar will be going out again on May 7 for Free Comic Book Day.  He is currently scheduled to go to a big Houston con as well, but an old idea of Big Bird as Robin is swirling in my mind.  And the work I am doing on a full body baby dragon is helping to fuel that idea.

I think he needs a bigger can but it would be harder to move around.
