Water for blacklight  (Read 4855 times)

I'd like to make a puddle of water on the floor for a set in our October show.  In regular light I'd use blue plastic or cellophane, but any ideas for black light?  Blues just don't show up well.  Wait!  Just as I was typing this I thought about actually painting a tarp or sheet with lines and circles (like where a fish just jumped) using purples and pinks.  What do you think? Should it be on a white sheet that glows or black where only the paint glows?  Or something else?  I'd love to hear your brainstorming ideas!!

Angel, are you wanting it to look as if something jumps out of it? If so, I would paint a piece of white poster board in the shape of the waters edge with blue and white wildfire paints, then attach it to black poster board. Use a paint stick to make a handle out to one side to hold the prop. Raise it high enough for puppets to "jump" up from behind/below. This will make it appear they are coming out of the water.

I don't want anything to come out.  It's just to set the scene.  I think painting fabric or paper might be the way.  It will just lay on the floor.
