Now wouldn't it be kind of hard to make a decent puppet if you didn't sew? I assumed you allsewed when I Wrote that. I learned to sew despite the grief I was given over it. I  give puppets away to my church and here snide comments about how I sew better than a woman. I was also one of the first kids to own a G.I. Joe and be tormented for playing with a doll. In short, I was kidding. Apparently it was taken the wrong way and I apologize for any bad feelings I may have caused. I just want to feel like part of the group.
(For the record I don't care if boys play with dolls or not. I understand it may help them to be a better father Someday.

I didn't and don't have any bad feelings.  And its a logical assumption that most of those posting on this site that build puppets would also know how to sew.  (I know a guy that sewed his wife's wedding dress.)

I had lots of Action Figures: GI Joe, Evil Kaneival (I sure that's spelled wrong), and Steve Austin the $6,000,000 Man, and Marshal James West.  Additionally, I can even remember playing Barbies with girl I was friends with (At that time this action was just asking for me to get teased --but interestinly enough I wasn't ever teased).

In short no harm, no foul.  We just couldn't let a opportunity to defend our manhood pass without saying our piece.

Actually I assumed you were saying all those things "tongue - in - cheek" and that all of us were responding the same way.  It takes a lot to make me take things the wrong way.  Besides don't ALL of us here still PLAY WITH DOLLS!!!!  I always like the double-meaning jokes that go on here at P&S!
And by the way my original story was meant as just a silly story (obviously with a logical explanation behind it) but we all give a certain amount of "life" to our creations and so every time I cannibalize something I can't help but imagine what that little stuffed creature would be "feeling".  If our characters do not have a certain amount of "reality" in our minds, we will not be able to convince our audiences of "life" as easily.  What goes on in my mind when creating scripts and story lines for my characters would really scare people outside of the puppetry world.  What do you mean they are only pretend!!!!  That is part of the fun of living in Puppet World - we get to use our imaginations and get paid for it!!!!

Ooops, another topic that ran off the road. No biggie. I taught myself how to sew and really dont like it. I like designing the puppets character and If I can find a seamstress or buy the appropriate costume for the puppet, I will do that.
I do sew by hand and have a nice $350.00 Singer.

Daryl...Lol you sewing machine has more miles on it than your car. Thats funny
