Project Puppet's Feet Pattern Posted by puppetfreak on May 19, 2010
This pattern isn't new but I have not actually seen it used yet. Anyone buy it? Pictures of finished works? It might seem rhetorical since Peoject Pyppet has amazing stuff but is it worth the money? Thank you all for your time and efforts!

hey Puppetfreak, I have purchased both the alternate body pattern and the legs and feet pattern and was happy with both. My red monster puppet Gudo (in my gallery) has both items in his construction, although I altered the feet pattern slightly. I feel they are worth it if you are new to puppetmaking and have no experience making your own patterns and/or don't want to waste material with a lot of trial and error, but that's really my opinion! Others don't use patterns at all.

I have the Alternate Body pattern and use always use it. I have it in my photos with my puppet Obey! I do like the way you used it with the red puppet though!

Until I read this post I didn't realize that PP did feet. I went to the website.... aren't those stumpy little feet the cutest things you ever saw! If I get into making full body puppets they MUST have feet like that.

I tried and failed at this! I think i need to improve my hand stitching as i have failed many atime doing this on the machine!

Frankie, I hand-sew everything on my puppets, mainly because I don't have a clue how to use a machine. A needle is so much more direct and simple to me. Time-consuming, yes, but very proud of the finished product. I have a few pics of a purple Wimble I made using custom-dyed antron that uses this feet pattern.

I picked up the ss body pattern and the feet pattern and used them on my first puppet.  The feet would have come out better if I knew how to sew but I have to say I rally liked it.  I have the Verna patterns too but havent used them yet so I have no comparison.

i think that they all look great, i personally have never used a pattern for feet, im the kind of person that likes the trial and error process to produce something that is entirely mine, but i must admit, i do like the PP feet. i think that hand sewing produces a much stronger seam, i have rarely ever machine sewed anything, but practice does make perfect and brilliant hand sewing doesnt happen overnight!!

Did you say 'verna patterns' Tallpaulmagic?? as in verna finley?? if so, i didnt realise patterns existed, i have had her tapes in my possesion for a very long time and she is the master!!

good luck with the feet, i think that great looking feet on a puppet is a must, such an awesome addition and detail, especially for prospective customers!! have a look at my red puppet in my gallery and tell me what you think of his feet.
