I like that there are passersby in the background that stop and check her out!  She moves really well.

The first test video with this puppet. The lower jaw was a little too stiff to close properly (the problem is the fur - I sewed it a little too tight - I'll change that soon). The eyes were not completely painted.

Hey my son just purchased 2 3D printers.  He promised to let me try them out soon, I told him about your fabulous creations. I love your work. Thank you so much for sharing.

Looking  very good! I have not seen any 3D printers down this way yet. I wonder how long it will take for them to get here.

Over 60 people in Colombia already registered a 3d-printer at https://www.3dhubs.com/ (a website where you can find a local 3D printer) and there are several Hackerspaces https://wiki.hackerspaces.org/Colombia in the country.

Finished my secretary bird puppet today

The head and eyelid-mechanism were 3d-printed with PLA. The body is made of foam and hollow inside.
I used a plastic sheet to build the feathers. The eyelids are controlled with Bowden cables. The three feathers at the back of the head are movable too.

wow EXCELLENT eye mech!   and 'Over 60 people in Colombia already registered a 3d-printer at https://www.3dhubs.com/ '  . That's an interesting piece of data. I suppose it is all bound to get here, but personally I have not yet seen one. I have two friends that have lazer cutters, but I haven't personally seen a 3D printer yet. I know we have micro robotics here, as I know someone who has an uncle or  some family connection to a company....
