Im watching it through amazon. It is like 2 bucks per episode. Cheaper than a cable subscription and it isn't illegal.

This wont work for those of us outside the Usa. It's restricted by region.

I liked episode 5 they are doing some amazing builds in record time. I like how the judges were blown away by the last minute fix being the best part.  Being able to adapt quickly and think on your feet when things go awry is so invaluable.  No time to wring your hands, get it done any way you can then pretend you always planned it that way.

Catching up, finished the Skeksis and Junk Yard episodes.  My problem is that I am having trouble focusing on the program.  They show an idea, and my mind starts wandering, trying to figure out how I can incorporate the idea.  So, will probably have to watch each episode a few times.  Loved the hand mechanisms in the Skeksis build.

Just watched the head episode....and....I want to make one!  While I understand the criticisms, and the judges are clearly professionals, I actually like the "bad" ones as well.

Yeah that was a good one. They all turned out well considering all the problems people ran into. I would be so proud of myself if I made something that looked like the "bad" ones.

I do plan on trying something, on a much smaller scale.  Probably a finger or small hand puppet.  I can see why this show has inspired you Rhoady.  But, like others have mentioned, I really wish they showed more of the building techniques!

Yeah it would be nice to see more. I do recommend smaller haha. I went big on my painting project inspired by that episode and it's kicking my butt. I think it will turn out cool but looking back I could have bit off less to chew.

Ok, I understand the clay sculpture, mold, latex foam bit.  But how is the plastic skull built?

Tyger, are you talking about the taxidermy base forms they built over for the head on the wall challenge?  They are made the same way actually. A clay model is sculpted then a mold is made of that. It is then case in rigid foam or plastic instead of soft latex foam. With an actor a live cast or mold is made of the face and then that is used to cast the base that is worked on.

No, I am talking about the clear plastic underbody that supports the foam latex.  The thing they attach eyes and mech to.
