You should start an easy shop if you haven't done so already. It is a great way to make some extra cash. You could also start a blog and monetize it with ads. I know I always look at "how to" blogs to get information.

Sorry, that's the only thing I could think of as a reply.

(Long sensible reply: quite clearly didn't read what I posted nor have paid attention to what I've posted here in the past. Yes, I've been selling products on my own site - since 2008 - and on Etsy too. My blog - although I have 2 sites - is even older than that. I don't bother with ads because I try to promote my own products instead - and you have to have a shirtload of ads over a long period of time to earn anything. If I recall google ads provide a few cents per click, which is basically a nothing as most people have ad blockers anyway. The second site was a 'how to' site which saw lots of popularity and some sales - this dried up when I became physically ill and as finances dwindled I could no longer continue putting effort into it. The whole reason  I posted in the first place is because I have no 'extra cash' coming in, no 'day job' and am very unwell. You have basically just told me to do exactly what I have been doing for the past 5 years - with no consideration of why I can no longer do it. Hence, banging heads against walls.. By the way, you have to work extremely hard to make 'extra cash' via those methods you listed, it's not like these are instant money makers or fetch huge amounts. I need  income , not pocket money.)

Actually, I don't mind you being new or not knowing my life history. I mind when I post something and people don't read it before replying.

Other than that, I'll apologise for tone mostly because I'm having a screamingly bad week and I'm really not being in the mood for being told what I already know. I think most people here would say that I'm usually overly cordial and polite; I do appreciate the thought, but like I said, just not in the right frame of mind to have any other reaction than that.

EDITED TO ADD: You know what, I am really sorry. I am kind of taking shit out on you and I don't mean to. My initial reaction was just frustration because right now I have a lot of people telling me to just do this, or just do that, when in actual fact it's not applicable at all with my current situation. I'm in 10 kinds of pain right now, not thinking straight, and lashing out. I am sorry, and hope you'll forgive the attitude. The thought behind what you posted is appreciated.

Thanks for understanding, and apologies again. Yesterday was particularly shitty and I think I got to the end of my rope.

It's a catch 22.  I have recently given someone that same advice.  (Blogs, advertizing etc.) Meanwhile my job is probably ending in September.  I want to scream too when people say, Oh your so creative, you could do this or that.  I've been making youtube videos that are monetized for 3 years.  I've almost made  $200.00.  LOL! not enough to live on yet.  However when we ask for help or advice.  That's what we get.

The U.S. has similar hoops for disability, and I understand you are never approved the first time you apply. I have a problem from an injury , proven track record that full time employment is not possible (and paperwork from Dr stating this) and was turned down.  Next step here is to get an attorney. They only charge if you get benefits, and take a portion of back pay. Might be something for you to check. My prayers are with you.

Yep. At the moment I'm getting a lot of the same - it's really quite difficult to explain to people that it requires a lot of hard work to earn even a small amount of money. And that's totally missing the point, which is that I really need an employment break right now.

Thanks but it works quite differently here. There are a number of hidden hoops that apparently I've not undertaken in order for anyone to take me seriously - information and transparency being the main problem I'm having, the second being the usual red tape crap. The other thing is that an attorney isn't necessary (yet). The way it is set up, you apply and if you get rejected you can ask for a 'review', basically another person within the agency looking at your files, plus sending in a 'new' bunch of files. This is provided free but must be done in a time limit.

If rejected after review - as I was - then you can ask for another one, which is also free. If you're still not happy there is a tribunal, and I think even court after that. All, as far as I know, free to me. This is good because I'm currently on a fortnightly 'wage' that is under the poverty level. Finding an attorney is just more stress frankly.

The other issue is that currently my right-wing government (who only took control late last year) is pretty anti-social-security and is doing its best to reduce the number of people on disability - even to the point of reviewing their current pensioners.

And lastly: this does not help me at all, because I'm also on the dole, for which I get the feeling that the government treats like two separate files. In other words, I am currently waiting out the last of a 6 month 'medical suspension' at which point I am forced to find work whether I like it or not. I have 'some' leeway as they are taking my medical issues into account, but given the way things have gone so far I expect all that means is no actual help to address underlying issues and instead an over-reliance on cookie-cutter approaches to force me into a job - any job - even if I am physically or mentally incapable of doing it. (I could technically ask for medical suspensions, but I was doing that until I got told that I either had to stop or apply for a disability pension... It's a merry-go-round!)

Not that I don't want to work. I really REALLY do. I'd just prefer to work when I'm more capable medically speaking.

Honestly, I was far less stressed when I had *no* money and wasn't under the thumb of the government.
