Siri and Cookie Monster (Apple iPhone ad) Posted by David on Apr 07, 2016
This hilarious ad featuring Cookie Monster showed up not too long ago:

and now a cute little "Behind the Scenes" video of them shooting it:

Interesting to note is how Cookie Monster's eyes are made, simply black circles pinned to the bigger white eye ball.  This, I did not know! Or never noticed before!

Thanks for the back scenes, they were great. I love the way his pupils swing around crazily. I loved when Cookie used the oven mitts as puppets. I always wondered if he had a hole in the back of his mouth.  Did you see how far in that spoon went? The cookies seem to break up and fall out of his mouth when he eats them so I was not sure if he had a hole back there or not. Once saw a whale hand puppet with a hole in the back of the mouth so that the puppeteer could stick their hand out and wave as Jonah inside whale.  Always caught people off guard, but you could not see the hole because the mouth did not open enough to see the back most of the time.

I laughed out loud at the mitten puppets, got a funny look from the wife :D  But that is a great observation on the eyes!

I thought there was a pivoting pin in that crazy pupil but I cannot figure out how pin would not fall out eventually. They must have cut the eyes apart and done something on the backside to hold the pin in. Any ideas on how to keep a pin pivot in a pupil like that?

Well ask you said it could be they cut the eye open and put something on the back of the pin but more then likely they may just simply glue it in. A bit of glue on the end of a small nail before you insert it into a whole well hold it firm.

I thought hot glue would make the pupil not spin but if you stick only a little glue into the hole and not let it touch the pupil, I could see that working.  thanks.
