Waaaaaaooooow !!!  You are SOOO good!  That is FANTASTIC.

Hey, thank you!! Glad you liked it pagestep! I hope the drumming was okay. I'm always self-conscious about my drumming skills.

I am not the best judge for sound tracks, I only have one ear works and it has high pitch hearing loss. I could not hear the vocals much but the music sounded great to me. I still can't believe you play so many instruments.

Snail, to my ear, the vocals were on the quieter side of 'fine'. I have a daughter like you 8ballsoffur. All my children play an instrument, but she plays flute, piano, piccolo, guitar, ukulele, and drums, composes and teaches, but finds it hard to find time to produce much. I know the dynamics of it, so that is why I am so impressed with your cover. Don't worry. The drumming was fine. I wondered if you used midi . If you could get onto original compositions with similar  'fun-ness'  you really should be approaching some of the bigger puppet companies like Sesame Street or The Henson Company for work. Good catchy songs are such a hard thing to  come by. I know you did not compose this song, but if you have the ability to deconstruct an existing one and reproduce it, you have the ability to do originals. Do have a go. You may be surprised. ( I'd employ you if I had any finance...and we work in Spanish) If you are Christian, and would like to contribute to  Spanish educational Puppet TV, on a volunteer basis, just let me know ! Keep up the good work

Thanks guys. I never thought I could do music, but who knows. Could be fun. Much like you pagestep, I have a kinda musical family. Had cousins in a metal band, and some of my great grandparents were Mexican ranchero singers, but we've always been around music. Its great for kids to grow up with music, and my hats off to your daughter, I cant play flutes at all!

As for the vocals, I think they do need to come up a bit, so I'll work on that. I really, really wish I could find someone to sing on it (I was thinking a female vocal would be cool), but alas...no luck.

I think you should try the vocals. You might be surprised!  Remember that a puppet voice does not have to be perfect. It is nice to have some character in a puppet voice.  Also there is always auto tune.
Re: Eight Balls of Fur! Posted by pagestep007 on Dec 03, 2017
Totally agree Shawn. The last couple songs I had a go at, I pitch shifted the music down, sang to the track for timing and tuning, then pitch shifted the vocal up to coordinate with the original music track. With puppets, people see the puppet, not the real owner of the voice, so it can be different quite a bit from the original, and  still be fine.

I think you guys are right, I might have a go at it. Well, better drum up my courage! If my vocals pan out, I will probably swap out the Chrissy puppet for another furry monster girl character I'm building (she's basically what I'd look like as a muppet, a sort of pet project)
Re: Eight Balls of Fur! Posted by Gail on Dec 04, 2017
Shawn is right, You might be able to do it. I understand that a recorded voice can be much different than what you hear with your ear. I don't recognize my recorded voice but then again I am deaf. Ask someone else's opinion of your recorded voice. Maybe you can mimic the original artist. There is plenty of cover in the backup music.  I am impressed with the layering of the tracks, the balance of the instruments, that is harder than most realize.

Well, I'm giving it a go. I've got to admit, puppeteering furballs is one thing, singing about furballs is...well, lets just hope the neighbors arent listening.

Ha ha ha, yes  I  certainly cringed a LOT when I first  started recording  my voice. I am starting to get used to it now though. Let us know how you get on.
