That was really funny!!! I love the bit where she moves his nose around! I absolutely love the second doctor coming in to help!! Why does Sammy turn into a dog? Atleast I assume she did at the end.

Great script!!!  I can't wait to see it once you have produced it.  Also curious about Sammy turning into a dog.
Re: DOCTOR WHO with Puppets Posted by David on Sep 18, 2008
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO She doesn't turn into a dog! OMG I've just had that from her herself! EEEEEEP!

I'm cutting that bit. It was meant to lead into another short fan film where we meet the first fan film Frobisher (read the comics if you're not familar with him)

Thanks for your input guys, greatly appreciated. I'm trying to strum together a resolution to the whole film and make it worth the 10 minutes I hope it runs till!

Yes, love the nose bit myself, always fun making nose jokes, especially after watching lots of Sesame Street (probably my main influence on that bit :P)

As long no one questions why the Doctor-turning-into-a-puppet reversible affects the 2nd Doctor (when in "Two Doctors" the 2nd turning into an Androgum affects the 6th) yes - its timey winey stuff teehee

Yes, the ending, hmm, needs clarification, tempted to start over, see if anything survives but why start over when I haven't finished the first one! ARGHHHHHHH!

again, thanks guys

David,  if you make the transition a little clearer it will probably fix the whole Sammy Dog confusion.  You could have it so that you can stilll hear her talking, or visible on a monitor or something so that every one knows that the dog is not her.  This will leave only the question - Who is the dog.  Which IMO is a good surprise element.

Just a thought,

Jon

Oh yeah of course if I do choose to do the follow up then yeah I may rework it, or even leave Sammy there

am undecided right now, no point prepping another film when the first isn't done! HAHA!

thanks for input Jon

WOW is this project really this old? Sheesh. I change socks more than I've read this script.

Since my last update I've done very little with the project, having recently released a Doctor Who Children in Need charity special entitled Pudsai and starring myself and a menagerie of other fan film Doctors check it out at www.doctorwho.damproductions.org

Anyways, Muppet Cutaway was restarted from scratch and not touched again since, I still like the idea just having problems writing it. Since DrPuppet's brilliant 'Genesis of the Moleks' Doctor Who 99 Acre Woods film, its been hard to think I am capable of comparing to it. Not only that but its hard to resist getting Puppet Tennant in on the game as a potential replacement for the Troughton Puppet.

In my head, Sammy's part in increasing, including combining heads with Troughton Puppet to save the Puppet Me Doctor, also Jay suggested that stock-video Gonzo sing a song to her... hmm

Again, its still buzzing slowly in the back of my mind and I might get a script complete by this project's inception's birthday maybe, so watch this space

David,

I am amazed by the amount of Fan Film Doctors that are out there. Everyone is always going on about copyright and such yet I wonder if the creators have found the secret to keeping their original concept alive and well.   Nice job on Doctor Who Children in Need.

Hi Shawn, glad you enjoyed it, the film has definately given me the fan film bug hence me sort of resurrecting the Muppet Cutaway idea recently.

And if you want to see MORE fan film Doctors or even more Doctor Who fan films you should check out the Doctor Who Fan Film Database at www.dwffdb.bravehost.com :D

Surprised this didn't disappear into the archive considering how old this is still. Not much has happened to this project bar my new relevation that I'd like to do something that doesn't involve challenging my human puppet making skills!

Instead, I am working on something called "Foul Play" featuring my Doctor and companion Sammy meeting a gang of muppet chickens and a rooster, thats the premise right now, I am looking at building the puppets including purchasing some feathers for the wings etc, should be fun!

I'll make a new thread for FP when I have more definite things to say about it.

How is that coming David you get any of the chickens made?
