Your dragon marionettes are incredible. I think you could write and book and feature your creations in it. they're that good.
That's a really fun idea, Jon! I love "puppet" books - those old ones from Japan from the Sixties and Seventies, with photo illustrations depicting fairy tales and other fanciful stories by Tadasu Izawa and Shigemi Hijikata. Johan's puppets would be perfect for that kind of story.

This article is somewhat relevant to Johan's puppets - read it for a laugh...

Hi best friends,
today I worked on the feet of mum and dad dragon. How did I do it: first I carved 1 foot in wood, then I made a mold in silicone rubber. After that I made 4 duplicates of it but I made some changes on both left feet. Then I carved the upper legs.
I made wooden plugs to connect the two parts. With apoxie I sculped the calves.
How went the song of Nancy Sinatra again??? These feet are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do...
Here some pictures, Johan

Nice work .....thanks for showing us novices in the marionette area step by step on making these elaborate puppets. I love the sculpting work that you do and really love the vision that you have for these puppets. Can't wait to see them in finished and in action.

Tthese dragons are just wondrous. Do you plans for them in a particular show? I am just in awe of your sculpting, and the controls and stringing them.
Fantasy and folk tales and the like are some of my favorites, so I particularly enjoy puppets that can be used in these kinds of stories.
These puppets are just beautiful.

I'm curious do you hand paint them or do you air brush the dragons? I like the way you blended the colors.

I hope you write a book one day...................... or just a book of your projects. It would make a great coffee table book or great gift. I know I will buy one.
