I'm not familiar with wooden marionettes but I must admit that I'm impressed how you carved everything, especially those small parts like palms and fingers. wow.

Hi puppeteers and puppetbuilders,
Hope you don't mind that I add more of my new creations in this topic but I saw that after 40.000 views people like to follow this topic.
So, this week I started to carve a dragon.
First of all I made a drawing of all the parts oF the dragon in front and in side view. These parts I took over on tissue paper to put it on to the wood. Then the bandsaw and after that the hard work: I don't need to sit near the fireplace when I'm carving. On the pictures you can see the head - the part of the mouth will be able to move and the ears also. I carved the neck out of some bell shapes. (there will be 3 parts).
Today I will begin with the 'torso' . On the picture you can see the uncarved part.
Soon more pics. Hope I don't need the patches.
Sincerely Johan

If you look close you can see they have been visiting the acupunctur... he left the needles in.
And my new creation: the best friend of spiderman
