Hi everyone,
after carving the heads of the 3 funny guys in the play I've started to carve the hands.
Here is a picture of the 3 stadia of carving them.

Hi friends,
I'm back again and finished carving one of the little guys. As you can see I dind't carve the whole arm because it's hidden under the clothes.
The next step is to paint him.

Nice! What is the upper arm made of?
Re: Building my first marionnette Posted by johian on May 19, 2010
Thx Shawn,
the upper arm is made of a leather band they used in a sewing-machine.

That witch is creepy!
I like this new puppet, especially the arms. I've not seen upper arms done like that before, it looks like a very useful method if you don't need to carve anything.

Are you playing in the Netherlands too? Grtjs Johan
Just telling that it is possible we are going to play in the Netherlands and that during our last play of this season the author of the book we took for our play was with us to watch the play. This meant a lot to us!
