Hey everyone let me be the first to say that Project Puppet has a new contest!!! You have to make an alien  puppet using the simple series. The roly, glorified sock, the pinhead, and the melonhead. You can also use the alternate body. I am so excited!! SO I made this post here so that We can all post our projects on this forum if anyone wants to. I'll see you guy later, I need to get started

I'm totally there puppetfreak!  I've already made sketches for a few types.  I have to pick only one this time.  Only one entry allowed.  I may make two or three and ask you guys which you like the best and submit that.  Who else is going to try here?  It's SO fun.

Hmmmm...I might....don't really have a use for an alien but if I have some extra time I may do it.

I love contests.

Okay, I checked out the contest.  Cool!  While I don't know what I would do with an alien puppet I surely know what I would do with either of those prizes...good quality puppet patterns and material...woohooooooooo!!!  It is certainly worth a try.  You cannot win if you do not try.  Good luck everyone.

I wish we lived near each other.  We could have a puppet build night with nachos and drinks, play some vintage records, talk and laugh.

OK, I'm dabbling with the idea of a alien zombie for this contest.  Halloween is around the corner.  Alien falls into a vat of toxic space waste and now he joins the ranks of the living dead.  Exposed brain, missing arm.  Too gross?

That sound cool!  Gross yes, but cool!

OK I'm a huge puppet user but I have never made one. Some of you make it  look all so easy but I am totally sure that it is not. Currently experiencing some down time so I'm up for giving this a go. Only all the talk so far like "puppet using the simple series. The roly, glorified sock, the pinhead, and the melonhead. You can also use the alternate body." are all over the top of my head. Is there some ware I can go to read the rules plus find out what this all means?

Regards Bret.

Hi Bret!

It's not all that hard. The context is sponsored by http://www.projectpuppet.com. If you go to their home page, in the rightmost column, under "Featured Items" there are links to their various patterns. That is what is being referred to as far as "roly" "pinhead", etc.

You can find more details about the contest at http://www.puppetcontest.com/, including all the rules.

Finally, puppet making is as hard as you want to make it. The Fandango sack puppets are effective little critters, and Big Bird is a great puppet. The required patterns for this contest really are pretty easy to use. Join the fun!

Thanks for all the info Chris, just on the off chance that it may mean something else is the November 1st deadline the day you have to submit the photos of your finished creation?

That's the way I read it. You really can make a puppet very quickly using these patterns. Time invested in planning, and then in accessorizing your creation for this contest would be the key.
