Fonzo - Welcome to P&S. Love your Monster Alien he looks great and well put together. If you've made any other puppets we'd love to see them as well
Stonemask -I love your alien too, he's awesome.
I thought about entering the contest but was in the middle of another build and some other projects so I didn't feel I had the time. Well, maybe next time.

StoneMask:
You've got to tell the others what you told me about the news coverage.

What happened about?
Re: Project Puppet's New Contest Posted by stonemask on Nov 20, 2008
hehe ok I can tell you if you are interested..
Because Iceland is a small country, stories about people with "funny" hobby are often put in the news. Today is an interview with me in a newspaper. About the puppet building, the contest and my music stuff. Also the Icelandic TV station Channel1/RUV is coming to my home today, and talk to me and shoot my puppets (with a camera!) Im a little bit excited about it. And I will talk about projectpuppet.com and the contest, and about my puppet building, how I got all the help from these web sites. It´s not so many here in Iceland building puppets. Few pro guys and me LOL. Maybe couple more. So the spotlight is on me and my puppets and the contest today in Iceland. I will post the link to the tv interview when it will be on the tv channel´s website. And maybe I can translate the paper interview. Here can you see a little bit, just a tiny news about it http://www.bb.is/?PageID=26&NewsID=123561

The attention that you and your puppets are getting is great Stonemask, congratulations!
Seeing your user name here and your actual name in the news article piqued my curiosity. I know that "stein" means "stone" in German, and so I guessed that it meant the same in Icelandic. That left me with "grímur," but I wasn't familiar with any word like it, accept for maybe "grim," "grime," "grimace," or "grimoire in English, and none of them means "mask."
I finally found some online Icelandic/English dictionaries, and found out that "grím" or "gríma" meant "mask," and that "grímur" was the proper declension to use with "stein."
So your actual first name in Icelandic is literally "Stonemask." That is so very cool!
Have you ever thought about making puppets based on your country's famous legendary sagas (Fornaldarsögur), or maybe some of the more historic ones? You could probably draw cool characters and stories from them.
It's great having you here. I don't think that I've formally welcomed you here, even though you've been a member here for awhile. I love having members here from many different countries, especially talented ones like you.

Thank you Ron!
Yes my name is Steingrímur. Steinn means Stone and Grímur would means Masks and Gríma is a MASK. One mask and two masks So Stonemask would be good translation on my name. Someone asked about my name. And thought that it is an indian name. Stonemask the great Indian chef!
The interview was fun. I think it will not get many minutes at the news. But I hope they can put everything I said in 2 minutes interview! LOL. I talked about puppetcontest.com and how the Internet helped me to start this puppet building. I will post a link to it when it will be online. And maybe try to translate it for you.
