Na,
I have the puppet about half way done and have run into some snags. I have to put it on hold for a while in order to finish a big project I am working on. Will pick it up when the project is finished.

Got your email Sue and will reply to that soon.

Na, quick question here...
With the copyright on your pattern, are you allowing people to sell completed puppets, like Project Puppet does; or simply to use for personal and ministry use?

You can sell the completed puppets, and/or use them for personal/ministry use. You can't sell the pattern though

No worries, I'll PM you.

Thanks, Na.  Wouldn't consider trying to sell your pattern.
Getting started today!  Can't wait!

Didn't think anyone would try, but it helps to be as clear as possible with these things

Sorry cvzdesign, I'm now updating the pattern with many many changes and won't be offering it up again for free.

Well...here she is!  Introducing...Lavendar!
Great pattern, Na!  I will use it again for sure!  Thanks so much for sharing.  I really enjoyed learning some ways that other builders put their puppets together.
I made a couple of changes...to what I had in mind for the puppet.
*  I used my own hand grip design inside, but I did mount the mouth to the head the way your pattern instructed...I liked that!
*  I made the hands/arms a little bit smaller, since I wanted a little girl type puppet.
*  I used foam instead of fiberfill for the arms, and I made poseable hands like Jay's videos teach.
The only thing I had trouble with, was the resizing of the pattern.  Still not sure what you meant by the 150%.  I tried simply sizing it at 150%, which would be 50% bigger...seemed too small.  Then, I tried 250%...way too big.  I finally settled on 200%, and then had to add a little length it seemed.
After all, it turned out really good.
Thanks again!
Oh, and excuse the poor pictures...I still don't have a digital camera, so I'm using my cell phone!    lol

Wow - she looks fantastic!

Thanks for the comments on the size of the patterns. Sue (jomama) said similar things, and I will be changing the patterns so that they are already the correct size and you simply print out and tape the pieces together. I'll also be resizing the body and neck patterns slightly larger, since they seem to be coming out too small for people's hands/arms.

I'm thinking I may also add some text on how to sew the fur/fleece instead of gluing. I'm glad you (Sara) took the pattern and made your own changes based on what you wanted to do - the hope is that the pattern is flexible enough to do that and still have a great looking/working puppet. How did you find doing the rods? I made a video using mine and am concerned that the rods might not come out very well...
