Re: Patterns Posted by Jon on Dec 15, 2008
I think you did a great job on the puppet!!! It looks like you were using alpine or blizzard fleece. because the knap on this is shorter it doesn't hide seams as well as antipill fleece. Nothing works as well as antron. Sometimes I've found that using smaller stitches helps to hide the seam. Your stitches look good but you could try making a second pass over the nose and chin again making your stitches fall between the stitches that are already there. Once you've done that pick out the seam so that the stitching is not holding any of the knap down.
It also looks like you have a little excess fabric on the front of the chin. You could try clipping that out with scissors and then hand stitching the seam.
You've done a great job so far. All You got left on the head is a little fussing to make it as good as it can be.

He means just some touch up here or there by fussing....It looks great! Very nice job!

great job! Fantastic. I can't wait to see the final product!
Re: Patterns Posted by Jon on Dec 15, 2008
Doc was right about what I meant by "fussing". It's just little adjustments you can make to your project. If I let myself I can endlessly keep tweaking almost any project I work on. Most of the time I have to tell myself enough is enough or I'll never stop fussing with it.
BTW - I really like the eyes. What did you use to make them?

I wouldn't have guessed that those were spoons. It worked quite well.

Good job at your first attempt.....I would have not guessed that it was spoons for the eyes either....they must be some large dome spoons.

It´s a little bit bigger than teaspoons. Just got it from a supermarket. Nice way to make fine eyes. Im waiting for more fleece for the body. The foam is ready. And the hands are left. Im thinking of have one hand like a glove, so I can control the hand. Have never done puppet like that. That will be the biggest puppet I have ever done. I will get some hair before the weekend.
