Got it! Works just fine.

My other question is about the pattern. When I print it out, part of the pieces are huge while other parts are very small. What am I doing wrong?

Re: Patterns Posted by DrPuppet on Nov 01, 2008
are you printing out actual size? The patterns were desinged to be full size. I know some programs will auto fit images to papper. Make sure its priniting 100 percent. It should for several like the head and body print a couple of pages that will need to be taped together.
Re: Patterns Posted by jomama on Nov 01, 2008
I think we got it figured out. But it would help to know what the finished size of the puppet should be. How tall is the head, how tall is the body etc.

Re: Patterns Posted by DrPuppet on Nov 01, 2008
I have redone the patterns because there have been some problems. Some of the default printers auto scale the patterns to fit the page. I tested it myself and got three different sizes each time. So I borke the patterns up into sections to fit on a regular peice of patter. The head is now 4 parts and the body and arms are two. This should fix the problem i tested it before I loaded it and it worked great. Hope it fixes the problems, please remember I am learning to and as we find problems together I am doing my best to fix them as soon as I can.

Thanks

I would be interested on how you attach the head to the body in one piece not using the tube method I have a pretty good idea on how it is done but want to see if you have any tips and tricks to make it easier to get a nice round neck that will measure up correctly.

THanks

Hi there!
Im trying to make puppet from DrPuppet´s pattern. I dont have the right fleece. I did it with some normal fleece, I dont find puppet fleece here in Iceland. So he´s not flawless. It´s like he´s having a scar on his nose and forehead. But I like this pattern, and will use it again.
How do I make the neck??
I did the ears in this morning. Im waiting for wig for the puppet. Here is he in progress.

I like it! I don't think the seams are all that noticeable. I'm sure Doc has some instructions for the neck, but in the meantime: the neck is a tube of material (the fleece in this case) which should be the diameter of the hole in the back of the head. It should be long enough to reach down to just before the bend in your elbow (so the puppet sits comfortably on your arm).

Thank you.
I will add the neck to night. I dont have much time each day for puppetbuilding.
