Franklin Puppet Posted by HenryG on Oct 29, 2008
Hi!

Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong area.
I'm not a puppeteer, but I have a question that I hope you guys can help me with.

Does anyone know where its possible to buy a puppet that looks exactly like this one:

It's from a comedy series called "Arrested Development".

Any help, or suggestions (besides making one myself) would be greatly appreciated!

Kindest,
Henry.

Henry

First I would like to Welcome you to Puppets and Stuff, we have a whole lot of capable builders and are members here. Be patient as people will read this post and I'm sure someone will be up for the challenge. Am I understanding you correctly that you do not want to build it yourself and want to buy it already made.
Could you give some specifics about how you want it built for example how tall, what type fabric, things like that.

Thanks Billy!

Yes, I was hoping that someone might recognise it as a finished product from some manufacturer,
but I'm beginning to see that it may have been custom made.

I have no idea of what its dimensions are, the only thing that I have to go by is the tv series mentioned.
Here's another photograph of the puppet (after he had gotten a hair cut):

Chances are the puppet may have been custom made for a television program and the buider may have copyrights attached to it. However it looks like a common puppet and i'm sure someone would gladly build one for you. Like I said we have some very good builders that are members so just be patient and perhaps someone would take on the challenged. How much money were you wanting to spend in US dollars. Unless someone else from Germany is a member here and see's this post.
We will try and work something out for you............. if push comes to shove I'm sure you could make it. We could help you with directions.

id like to get my dad one of these puppets as well even if it needs to be custom made. is there anyone here that will do it? it would be awesome if i could get it for Christmas but i don't know how long this would take if it were custom. also how much would it cost?
Re: Franklin Puppet Posted by Na on Dec 06, 2008
The puppet is from a TV show (US show called 'Arrested Development) and I have a feeling it would be a copyrighted design a well as custom made for the show.

Someone asked this on Yahoo Answers. (Trying to find the link, but can't seem to. I'm sure I provided an answer to the question, so if you head over to YA and look for my profile - use my website URL for the profile name - and check the list of q's I've answered. It's there somewhere)

i cant find the yahoo answers question on there. im really just curious how much it costs to get something like this made if it cant be found. my dad loves the tv show and im sure this would be an awesome christmas present if there was anyway i could get my hands on one. it doesnt look like a very complex puppet so i wouldnt assume it would be very expensive to make, but if anyone on here would be willing to make it or know somewhere that will i can pay up front if needed and you would make my dad's christmas very special.

Thanks
Ross

I'm affraid I'm already booked up for Christmas with my puppet making.  Perhaps there is another who would like to try it.  If I were making it I would charge $120 if that helps you make a decision on this kind of gift.  Anything custom made will cost you more than a premade and something like that would run about $80 at One Way Street.

You are right this is a friendly forum..................... but sometimes I forget my manners and I certainly did here.
" Welcome to Puppets and Stuff ".......... I certainly hope you find someone to build a puppet for you for Christmas.
