Does anyone know how to make arms like these?  If you are willing to share, please post details.

What are they made of, and do you hand sew on the material because of the skinny size?
Thanks in advance!

It is pretty simple you have to sew a skinny type arm and then stuff with polyfill or you can make a foam tube and tie a string or yarn in the middle to form a elbow ( If you want one)
The hand is made separate....... however it is filled with foamof which you can make two ways.
(1) cut out hand design from 1" foam add contact cement to the outside and add wire to the outside of the hand pinching the foam together to enclose the wire in the foam.
(2) you can cut two hands from 1/2 " foam place glue on one side of each hand..because you will sandwich them together with wire enclosed.

Then you sew your bendable hand on to the fabric arm.

i'll come back and post pictures.

Thanks, Billy.  I love quick responses!  )
I've been actually doing the posable hands like Jay instructs in his videos...I like that way too!
I was mostly wondering about the arms...so they are simply stuffed?  I usually use the foam tubes, but they are harder to make so skinny. :d
Thanks again for the help!

I'm guessing it's antron fleece, stuffed with some filling. You can just make out the seam on the left arm in one of the pics.

I usually use antron fleece sewn in a tube form and then make a another tube out of cheap material I sew across the material tube for an elbow.  I put the material tube into the antron fleece tube and stuff each end and sew them off (material tube only) and then proceed to attaching the arms to the body and hands to the other end.  I like the material inside the tube so that you can get an even look to the arm because fleece is stretchy (more in one direction than the other) in all directions it can make your arms look in places over stuffed and deformed.  By using a cotton material with little to no stretch will make the arm look uniform and even all the way down no matter how you much you stuff it.  Just be careful to not over stuff since this will limit arm movement especially the elbow bend.

Sara, just happened to find this:

http://jbpuppets.blogspot.com/

It's the blog of the puppet maker whose arms you're interested in (or rather, the puppet's arms you're interested in )

Daryl, I LOVE your idea about the fabric tube inside!  I believe I will implement that right away!
Na, thanks again for your input!  And, yes...I'm only interested in the puppet's arms!  LOL

No worries; I just happened to find it today, and I'm very pleased because Jarrod's an Aussie, and it's nice to see fellow Aussie puppeteers showcase their stuff.
