I've lived in communities where if a guy were to sew much he would have taken some teasing.  But most places people didn't really care.  I fact, I know one man that made his wife's wedding dress.  That being said people are still surprised that I know how to sew.  They just naturally assume that when I bring in something I've sewn that my wife did it.

your puppet looks great and i know when i started to use a sewing machine it was all a bit daunting but now mum dont get a looking lol its easy once you get going all you got to remember is that, the bolt that's attached to the needle hurts when it hit's your finger. so keep fingers well clear lol

Boy I'm glad to know that I'm not the only person to learn that the hard way!

My son is a better sewer than I am!!  He has sewed all the costumes for the children's play at his university and he makes puppets too.  I actually taught my children - both boys - how to use a needle and thread when they were young!
Add me to the list of people who have had a run in LITERALLY with the needle on the sewing machine.  I sewed right through my finger!   Maybe that is why I never took to sewing as much!!

I have always taken a bit of flack for sewing but who cares.

Jon I am glad you found the reverse. Don't be embarrassed it took me a few to find it to!

I love my machines.  I'm a sewing machine nut.  I posted a new thread on it.  My favorite standard sewing machine was one I found at a garage sale.  My used serger was a gift from my husband.  I love sergers.  They are great for sewing garments because it finishes the seam edges so the garment washes well.

(argh, I've just attached the hand upside down ;/ I was sweating myself to make a knot inside the body and now I'm forced to redo it... oh well... )

OK guys, the time has come. hehe.

as you all guys know, this is my first ever puppet.
he supposed to be JUST a "training puppet" before I start my "real project" but even though being a "training puppet" I tried to do my best and spent a lot of time building this puppet.
hope you will like him.
I didn't know which photos to choose so I'm putting a few of them.

let me guys know what do you think about him.

Great job on the puppet, he looks so absolutely adorable. I love the feet you gave him. Keep up the good work, your craftsmanship is very nice.
