No Strings - Tales of Disaster Posted by Jon on Dec 17, 2008
I don't know how many of you follow Andrew's Blog but I was very interested in his post about the puppet troup called No Strings that recently produced some disaster awareness videos to educate people in being prepared for various types of disaster that occur in developing countries. I've included one of the videos in this post along with links to
Andrews post as wells as to the other videos produceds by No Strings.

Hey, can any of you give some insight on building puppets like these? They are awesome! First of all, how do you make a headshape like that....looks like the mouth is small in the front of the head...not a completely separate piece. Any patterns available for that?
Also..are they made from antron or something else?
Thanks...and Merry Christmas!

What I really like about the videos is the way they used both Shadow and Hand and Rod puppetry. It's also cool how they put together some very entertaining stories to teach some very important survival skills. What I noticed was that the skills and techniques weren't particuarly difficult. Everything was just very well thought out and executed. It's got me putting together some ideas for the video projects I'm working on.
