Work in progress Posted by SpankyMenky on Jan 07, 2009
I've been working on a puppet for two days now (based on the Brazil tutorial).
So far I found out that for me personal the original sizes are just a bit too small. So the next one is going to be slightly bigger. (I've already made the next head from fabric and cut the foam filling for the head...but not glued it together yet)
On the picture below it's the head in the upper right corner. (On this picture you can also see my Kermit lookalike which is almost done, I only need that pointy circel around his neck, but don't have the right fabric on the moment
Things I've done so far:
-Created the head from fabric and foam as in the tutorial
-Made a long thin nose by cutting a piece of foam in the right shape and sew a fitting piece of fabric around it
-Made two eyes from polystyrene balls, bathcloth (sorry if I mispelled) and a marker. Getting the fabric around the eyes is pretty annoying when it's not stretch. I've haven't looked for a tutorial on this subject yet..maybe I should have done that first
And in the end I put them all together
Further plans:
I'm gonna give him a musculant body and ofcourse some clothes.
Finishing touch is going to be fur as a toupet made from old furry slippers.
Shawn: while ripping the slippers apart I saw what you meant with it's better to cut fur from the other side, nice smooth surface to cut
Today I cut the hairpiece and placed this on the puppet. Pictures are in the gallery
