Dutch Puppet's newest puppets in 2009!!! Posted by dutch puppet on Jan 08, 2009
Hello,

I've been busy in the end of 2008 en the beginning of 2009. People have been so enthusiastic about the puppets, that they want to learn how to make them. So I've started a few workshops and now I would like to show you the results of my students!

Those are some wonderful little fellows! So each one was made by a different student or did some of them make more then one?  I really like the look on the one in green hair and costume... very soft and gentle almost child like.  The last one with the buck teeth and glasses  looks like the mouth was done a bit different then the others.

Hi everyone!

Thankx for the nice replies!

First for miguel: I believe you're talking about the puppet with the Bordeaux hair and the purple dress. This hair is made of marabou. You just make two loops at the top of the head and put a hairtie around it. The rest of the hair is glued on the head.

Then for Shawn: each puppet is made by a different student. On my website you can find pictures of the students and their puppet and a review of each student so far.

At last for Billy: I'm surprised that everyone is so excited! The workshops are all full till march! And I didn't even put any advertisement anywhere!

Hope to show you all more stuff soon! But feel free to take a look at my website!

Hi Miguel,

I have made a post earlier, here's the info you were looking for:

Maybe an idea for the hair... instead of binding wool together, you can wind it on a carton board then carefully take it of lay it on a piece of stretch material then cover it wit plain paper and sew it with a sewing machine with a stretch-sew. After that carefully tear of the paper and you've got a nice wig! see my photographs:

The fabric I used is a synthetic stretch. I've found it on sale. I was looking for fleece, but thin one is very hard to find here in the right colour and quality (thin one).
