Strange thing to ask but... Posted by gav on Jan 11, 2009
My latest puppet is going to be holding a meat cleaver like shown here. http://www.bjwinslow.com/albums/weapons/safety_meat_cleaver_20.sized.jpg
My problem is I can not for the life of my find a good full sized pick. With the actual size and demensions. I want to make it big enough to be noticed right away but small enough the it doesn't look like the puppet is hold a sword instead of a meat cleaver. I would love to make a pattern of one since I want to make one look as close to the real thing as possible.

Here's a link to a site advertising a 13" long plastic cleaver. I think that ought to be about the right size to be recognizable to an audience and at the same time not huge in comparison to the puppet.

I changed my mind. I thought that one looked to fake and plastic and would never fit with my puppet. I wanted one that looked dirty and used. So I made one for the puppet. http://puppetsandstuff.com/community/index.php?action=gallery&g2_itemId=5821
Once you see the puppet you'll see it fits better.
