Trimming fur Posted by chimei on Jan 25, 2009
greetings...

any good tops for trimming fake fur? i've tried  scissors, but that's a bit uneven...and barber's hair clippers get clogged up.

Clippers are the best maybe you need new blades.....they have to be sharp to work nicely....also take a little layer off until you are down to the level you want the hair.

Using scissors will work if you take your time and are patient. First use a wire dog brush to comb the fur up away from the backing of the fur. Trim a little less than you want your final length to be. Re comb the fur and taking tiny snips even out the fur. Snip, check length, snip, check length. Using electric trimmers will work, but you will dull the blades quickly and if you don't have spare blades around it is a bother to have to get them sharpened before you can use them again. I like the control I can get with scissors.
