At last I found rubber cement and it's here pictureglue !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I sure hope that the rubbercement which is sold here as pictureglue will be of use. The glue I use is more a kind of contactglue. This makes it easy to make a puppet in one day... Here is the glue which I bought by my local shoesmaker Klebfest and a simple pictureglue. I also found the main difference on a website, excuses for the dutch language. It was to much trouble to translate at this hour:


Linksboven Klebfest. Dit is een rubber contact lijm, deze is vooral te koop bij een schoenenherstel winkel. Deze heeft dezelfde einenschappen als alle andere contact lijmen. Deze moet dus dubbelzijdig en dun aangebracht worden na een droogtijd van ong. 5 minuten als de lijm als het ware droog is samen gebracht worden. Hier moet je goed oppassen omdat wanneer het eenmaal tegen elkaar zit, de onderdelen niet meer van elkaar los te halen zijn en er dan geweld gebruikt moet worden. Dan geld dus vast is dan ook echt vast.


Daarnaast zien we een andere tube van Henzo. Dit is ook wel foto lijm genoemd. Deze heeft dan ook dezelfde eigenschappen als de bovengenoemden, maar wel een extra heel belangrijk verschil. Deze is verwijderbaar en is dus niet permanent. Deze lijm moet ook dubbelzijdig aangebracht worden en dan kunnen de delen samengebracht worden. Het voordeel hiervan is bijvoorbeeld met houtbouw, dat je er een papiertje met de zaaglijnen op kunt vastzetten en dan na het zagen deze gemakkelijk kunt verwijderen. Blijft er lijm achter en dat gebeurt, dan kun je gemakkelijk door er met je vinger over heen te wrijven de lijm er af rollen. Dan blijft het hout mooi en hoef je niet op het hout af te tekenen zodat je eventuele hulplijnen om af te tekenen niet van het hout hoeft af te schuren. Ook deze is bij de plastic modelbouwdozen niet echt bruikbaar.

Because the puppet is going to be used often, it needs a superglue. The glue I used is also called rubbercement. But I hope this was of use for you! Because the glue was about 5 euro a piece, my shoesmaker offered me to put his glue, which he can order per liter, in a applejuice jar, so I could try it. He also had a special "oplosmiddel" (sorry don't now the English word), which I could try. The special thing about his glue above the pieces in a tube are:
- the price is about 80% lower!
- it is really invisible! The other one is a little yellow.

Goeie tip van die lijm, ik gebruik altijd vloeibare latex  om foamrubber te lijmen. Mooie site Dutch Puppet, en mooie poppen!!!

I use latex-rubber to make these puppets. These are very small puppets, the heads are 1 or 2 inches high, I don´t think these methods would work for puppets the size you guys use.

By the way: great site you have, I'm happy to see Holland has more puppetbuilders!!! You're puppets and puppetanimals look very real!!!!!!! Maybe there should be a puppet convention here in Holland, where we could tell eachother our secrets and techniques...
