Oh by the way... if anyone has any feedback for me for the pattern so far, let me know. It would be great to get a heads up on problems before I move into the last phase, so I can rectify issues before making the final puppet/patterns.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO ALL PEOPLE WHO GOT MY PATTERN

This week I was mortified to discover that my site had got hacked. In particular my shopping cart system. I'm currently sorting out the details, but I have made a decision to remove the software altogether, after dealing with problems on a constant basis since I bought (!) the software and the revelation that this hack has made my customer info potentially at risk.

This means that I will be delaying the release of the final steps of the pattern (hopefully sending it before July when I go away). THIS ALSO MEANS YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO ACCESS THE DOWNLOADS until I sort out my new system of sending the patterns. Please watch this space for more info.

SOrry to hear about your issues. I had a hack about two years ago that totally messed up my business for months. Hopefully there won't be that much hassle with your situation getting rectified.
Re: New pattern giveaway Posted by Andrew on May 25, 2009
That's awful. PuppetBuilding.com got hacked and, well, I think the grief that caused is well-known.

I really cannot stress enough not to use Cubecart. I work with PHP frameworks and shopping carts quite a bit and really do believe it's lousy software. For anyone looking to set-up an online shop, I really recommend having an ecommerce professional or at least someone with good PHP knowledge do it for you. It is ultimately much cheaper and faster than trying to do it yourself.

Na,

This is a bad news indeed....I always admire your site & the way you
handle stuff....so sorry about it. Can you take up the matter with the
local consumer court to sort out the issue?

I am sure things will sort out before you leave for your trip to attend the
puppet festival. My prayers and best wishes.

No problem ...We will wait till you rectify the web site matter.

Bhanu

About the arms-Could the regular way be in the pattern with the detachable rods as an option-Just a thought,
Steve
Re: New pattern giveaway Posted by Na on May 26, 2009
Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts.

@Andrew, I wish I knew that one year ago. I've wasted a lot of time and money on Cubecart, and have quite a few swear words for the programmers. I'd say 'you live, you learn', except for the fact that my main concern at the moment is figuring out whether or not customer info has been stolen. (Sigh)

@Monkey, the rods won't be detachable, but this is a more advanced version of attaching them. I haven't done detachable rods before, so I don't think it's a good idea to start testing it in the pattern itself - sorry!
