New member here from Kansas City, MO. I have always been fond of puppets and recently decided to start making my own. To chronicle my adventures I have started my own blog. http://puppetblog.ff-legends.com/   Anyway I've already found a lot of good information on this site, and figured I might as well start participating in the discussion.

To date I've made 5 puppets. My favorite is still my first, his name is Berg.

His hands are messed up due to not using a sewing machine for so long. Each puppet since has had much better hands, but something about his deformed hands defines him.

Welcome to P&S! And thanks for sharing the picture of your puppet - we hope to see more.  I really like that little yellow guy's face - it is put together in such a way that I expect him to start talking!  TONS of personality!!  Again welcome!!

Welcome to Puppets and Stuff. KCMO!  You are in my neighborhood.  Have you checked out StoneLion Puppets, Paul Mesner Puppets or PAI.  They are all local sources or activities for puppeteers or puppet lovers.  StoneLion often hires new up and coming puppeteers.

Thanks everyone!! Your guys are helping to inflate Berg's ego even more than it already is... lol

So far I've only checked out Paul Mesner Puppets, but that is only because I've driven by them on Linwood so many times. I'll check out StoneLion and PAI. Thanks for the info.

Welcome! I love it that Berg has an inflated ego! It's great to hear about the personalities of the critters we create and/or work with. It's so much easier to use a puppet when it has a clear personality! I sometimes worry about what comes out of my friend, MacGillicuddy's, mouth. I just don't know where he gets it from.
