I got foam... muahahaha! Posted by imy on Feb 28, 2009
I got some foam! Now to figure out how to use it I've started doing a head. I'm thinking it'll be a carved, glove/mouth puppet which may or may not be full bodied. Maybe I should do a plan? Nahhhhh!
I've carved most of the head from the foam but I think I've been unkind to my scissors at some stage and they are a little blunt... time to swap from the evil scissors to the good scissors to smooth it all out.
I've also run out of fabric as I've not done the massive drive to the craft store from here... I'm looking at my bath mat which I've just hung on the line
This might be interesting!

Congrats on your first foam purchase....I am getting excited for you.
Your scissors will go dull very quickly with foam......actually anything sharp will get dull when cutting foam.
Can't wait to see your end result.

One problem... he's nearly finished... just have to paint the eyes and sew on his hands and legs... then add some fluff features. Its was fun and tricky working without a pattern but I have blisters from snip, snip, snipping at foam!
Its a little scary though... I'll try to make him a bit more kid-friendly before I post pics.

Great Job on the Goblin...................... I agree, He is very expressive, I like that color to. Did you use a pattern or just design the puppet using trial and error. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
