I love Trolls and Goblins. Great design! Reminds me of Cher's monsters, which means youre on your way to be very very good.

Bravo!

Hi and thanks!

I didn't have a pattern although I did have a basic had outline which I did use. Its tricky to know how far apart to do those fingers before sewing them, just so they don't look all stuck together and weird. The body was a guess job. I should have posted pics of his little butt crack... the kids at school thought that bit was too funny.

I love Cher's monsters so thats a huge compliment... although I hope its not too close to hers. I don't want to be seen as a copier or anything.

I can't wait to do another but I have some stuff on this week which goes into the weekend so I'm thinking it won't be until next week. I'll have to get my hands on some more fabric... since I've not been to the craft store, I'm restricted to the thrift shop for now. At least the foam is new.

Thanks again for the compliments

So did you carve him from a block of foam or did you cut out shapes of foam and glue them to get your look?  I really like him... very professional... are you sure you haven't done this before.
Re: I got foam... muahahaha! Posted by imy on Mar 03, 2009
His round head shape is carved from a block but the nose, ears and eye bags were stuck on... I'm not up to the 'one piece of foam' point yet! LOL

Nah, haven't done this before but I've made loads of other stuff in the past... soft toys and sculptures. Much of what you know can be transferred. I am probably doing everything the hard way. Oh well. Maybe next time I'll make a pattern from the fabric I cut. It might save some time later on when I go to do anything of a similar size.

I try making patterns and keeping but always seem to end up starting fresh.   I guess maybe I use very basic patterns I've come up with but I always seem to be experimenting.

All your past experience should serve you well. Don't second guess it.
