Now I'm not a lawyer, and I don't play one on TV, but in my opinion even if you were to create a replica of the original puppet, it would probably classify under "derivative work" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derivative_work) since you'd be adding in your personal techniques and touches (in other words, "flaws").

All I can say is if this is your second only puppet that you have ever built. You have a very promising future as professional puppet builder. Congratulations on a job well done.
The anticipation was worth the wait, you should be very proud of your accomplishments.

He is absolutely wonderful!!!!  You did and astounding job on him.  While there may be similarities with peanut he is still unique.

OK, message that was gone:

-----
Thanks for your response, guys.
Billy

OK, so, once again --- I know about the copyrights that belong to Jeff Dunham and Mary Ann Tylor and I do respect them; I do not intend to get any profit from making Peanut, he's made of my desire of having anything similar to him and that's it...

PS. Peanut is a second puppet I have ever built in my life so, like Billy said, it was a big challenge for me but I didn't give up even when problems during the building process occured.

Let's go. I hope I'll not overload you with photos.
As you can notice, he's got two kinds of hair.
Ah, he's obviously purple, but I don't know if your screen calibration is similar to mine (I tried to get the most accurate color with my camera and then with Photoshop) and you might see him a bit blue(?)
