New puppet Work In Progress Posted by DrPuppet on Mar 11, 2009
The last couple months we have been working on a short film and this puppet is the last thing to make. So I thought i would put him up as I finish him for those interested.

Oooh, I like it! I really love the grey streaks in the hair - is that paint, or just a different type of hair?

I really like the definition around the eyes and the nose it gives it a less characature look than what we usually see with your puppets.....it seems to have a more realistic look (I hope that i make sense here.....I am complimenting all your puppets just pointing out a different feel for this puppet than usual). I really like the overall look of him.
Can't wait to see the video you are working on.
I was thinking of you lately and hoping all is well......

Thanks both of you. His hair is a wig that my son used for halloween last year, he was a vampire. I wanted this character to be based on Christopher Lee from the 1970 Vampire movies from England. Some of you are most likely too young to remember. He did not have a beard in those but I really like the beard it fleshes him out a bit. The white on the beard is different fur and once is sewn in it should be seemless. Now you can do that to a black wig but using a silver marker (permanent).
Thanks Stigman I do understand what you meant. I made a new Human head design and even sunk in the eyes as well as pulling out an eye ridge. That plus the shading really gives him an unusual look. I will post the final shots of him with his clothing in a day or so.

Jay,
I really like the new design. The addition of the brow ridge and eye socket to sink the eyes really takes things to a different level.

I'll agree with the others, very well done!
He has a very serious, "I'm not here to sing a silly puppet song" look that's intriguing.
I'd love to see the beard finished, to see how the different colors meld!

I like it very much. I would use a narrower moustache perhaps

Awesome work! The more I post on here the more I discover that seems to be the case when it comes to your building skills.
