So I found a project I was really keen on at the time, but then abandoned because I wasn't happy with the results I was getting.... Well, what better time to revisit it than spring break?

I guess I don't understand why you didn't like it in the first place.  It really lokked like you had made a very good start of things. 

But then again if you have a mental picture of the way you wanted it to look and it wasn't matching that it could be disappointing.

Maybe now after you've stepped way from the project you can see the potential and turn it into something that will make you happy.

CAn;t wait to see what you come up with.

I agree with Jon I liked it also. Then again I have gone to bed at night and awoke the next morning to see a total different puppet than I saw when I went to bed.
So you will figure out what is best for this one................ Can't wait to see what you finish with.

If you visit the Gallery you'll see more images and it makes more sense why jlucci wanted to change it. The width of the head from the back was off.

I think your changes are brilliant and the new shape is much better. Your ladder stitch is not bad it looks like perhaps you just need to make smaller "steps".

Thank you!  I think I figured out towards the end of my seam that I was stitching too big, and it was creating a zig-zag like trench... but it'll be under the hairline, so I think all is well.

And as far as feeling the need to modify it, I guess the original picture didn't have a size comparison for you guys to see how elongated the head was... the rear was out of proportion and closed in on itself (too thin compared to the mouth)

I haven't decided if this should be a typical person puppet, or a cartoon-ish "Muppet" type.... Any votes?

What kind of pattern did you use for this puppet? And, How you attached the fabric to the mouth plate?

A ladder stitch is always going to create that zigzag.  It is one thing that can help hide the seam but if you get the stitches to big/long it becomes noticeable.  Have you picked out the seam yet?  That well normally hide just about any seam.

Nice work......I can see what Shawn was saying......once you look at all the pictures you can see the dramatic change.

Can't wait to see when it is done......I am also excited about March Break.....I will be making puppets as well.

Hi All!

So I FINALLY finished this guy, after a couple other projects had my attention.

I actually ended up taking off the fleece head that is previously pictured and re-patterning it for a better fit and finish.
